A Very Merry Unbirthday Part 1

Maddy celebrated her third birthday in style this weekend.  We took a page from Alice In Wonderland and decided to have a Very Merry Unbirthday Party.  I am very proud of how her party came together…especially since the inspiration really didn’t start flowing for a while, but also since a great deal of it was handmade.

The Invitations:

It all started with the invitations.  Being the type of person who would prefer ease I combed the Internet and could not find anything cute that did not cost five dollars an invitation. I did a freehand drawing of the Disney Mad Hatter’s hat on some cardstock and then with my iphone matched the colors in cardstock at Hobby Lobby.  I then added some Tim Holtz Distress Ink and Distress Stickles and it quickly became an invitation worthy of a Mad Tea Party.  Total Cost for twenty invitations, including the “You’re Invited” stamp on the back of the invitations was $20.00 for twenty-five.

This isn’t the best photo, but at least you can see the back of the invite.

I hope that you will stick with me this week because I have lots more to share about this birthday bash!
