Speed Scrappin’: Using Ink

Happy Tuesday!

I wanted to share a quick tip with you that makes your layouts look like you spent a lot of time…when you totally didn’t.  Ready?  Use some ink on your edges.  I know it sounds like a no brainer that I’m sure many of you have already thought about or use, but for me it was kind of a major epiphany.

Hitting the edges of my paper layers with a little ink has taken them from flat to dimensional.  Here are a few examples of how I’ve used ink to add to the layers of my pages.

Seriously this takes no time at all!  I almost exclusively use Tim Holtz Distress Inks because they can be layered and they wash off my hands easily.  If you do not have a foam applicator you can always just rub the ink pad along the edge of the paper.  This technique gives a deeper tint, but it accomplishes the same thing!
